Education

Savannah is currently pursuing a BFA in Theatre Education with a minor in Psychology at Emerson College. On track to graduate one semester early, she has begun taking her core education classes in preparation for student teaching.

Outside of the classroom, Savannah serves as Artistic Director of Emerson College’s Theatre for All Audience’s Organization, Kidding Around. Kidding Around, also known as KA, is committed to providing the Boston community and surrounding areas with theatre for all through the power of educational tools, social/emotional learning, and accessible performance. Formerly known as Emerson’s Theatre for Young Audiences Organization, Savannah was instrumental in the organization’s rebrand, as an effort to be more inclusive of adolescent, young adult, and teen driven stories as well as elementary age. The organization tours a production to schools and local community centers at least one per academic year, with the intent to serve its mission.

Savannah has also recently joined the BlueJay Theater Collective board as their Creative Advisor, a new position added this fall. BlueJay is a Dramatic Theater-based student organization at Emerson College. BlueJay’s purpose as a collective and organization is to execute and depict relatable theater in which our young-adult and college-aged audiences can see themselves accurately portrayed onstage. BlueJay aims to appeal to and uplift the demographic they are working with in creating an inclusive, professional, and familial work environment, as well as creating a space in which actors, designers, managers, and staff feel supported and encouraged to share their ideas. The goal of BlueJay Theater Collective is to inspire the artistic spirits of young creatives through proper representation and relatability.

Savannah also recently joined Musical Theatre Against the Grain (MTAG)’s Advisory Board! MTAG is committed to making and producing theatre that pushes the boundaries of what we already know and see in everyday productions.

After graduation, Savannah hopes to teach/direct theatre and inspire young minds just like her own educators, both past and present.
